Green Juice VS Superfood Powders

Superfood green powders are created with the intention of helping you meet your fruit and vegetable intake. They contain a blend of various fruits, vegetables, and other ingredients, designed to support overall health and well-being. In order to produce the powder, the ingredients are dried and then ground into a powder which is to be mixed into water or juice, ready to be consumed. At B.fresh, we have developed a green juice ‘Balanced Greens’, which also offers an easy way to get your intake of fruit and veg in, but whilst remaining fresher and more nutritious.

Minimal fibre content due to loss of nutrients in drying process

Made from whole, fresh produce

Gritty and grassy taste that some may find unpleasant

Pre-made, no mixing required

Needs to be mixed into water or juice so is less convenient

Not heat treated and natural

Undergoes more processing, making the end product less natural

Why should I switch my superfood powder for Balanced Greens?

In summary, it is evident why the use of superfood powders has become more apparent over recent years. They act as an easy way for the average consumer to get more fruit and veg into their diet quickly. Some superfood powders have also been curated with a certain health goal in mind too, for example, hormone balancing, gut health etc.

However, it is hard to ignore the gritty taste that many have said they cannot get past as opposed to the fresh and hydrating experience when drinking Balanced Greens. It is also important to note that concerns have risen around how nutritional the end product of superfood powders actually are due to the process. It is suggested that through the drying process, essential enzymes in the fruits and vegetables that are required for the absorption of vitamins and minerals into the body, are degraded. This implies that compared to drinking green juices, superfood powders allow for less nutrients to be actually consumed by the body. In addition to the fresher taste of green juices, the grab from the fridge and go concept of Balanced Greens is a lot more appealing to busy consumers due to the convenience, rather than having to prepare your powdered drink to suit your tastes. To conclude, one Balanced Greens makes up 1 of your 5 a day, however, a superfood powder does not contribute towards your 5 a day due to the vitamins and minerals being hard to quantify. Therefore, it is obvious that in terms of both health and convenience, a green juice (we suggest Balanced Greens), is the superior choice to get your daily greens in.
